Dutch designer Joris Sparenberg (1953) grows up in Groningen and studies Industrial Design at the TU Delft. After graduating, he works as a furniture maker in Rotterdam. Later, he moves to Enkhuizen where he starts Sparenberg Designworks in 1999. His wonderful design Vase becomes very successful and marks his definitive international breakthrough. Vase is included in The International Design Yearbook 2002 and in Graphic Product Design3/2003. Sparenberg is also nominated for the Kodak Eastman Innovation Award in 2002. Nowadays, Sparenberg produces a variety of surprising designs, like Birdy, Little Vibes and 3dWordFlips.
